DARPG reports ₹200.21 crore from recent scrap disposals spanning December 2025-January 2026. In January, 5,188 sites hosted drives reviewing files and purging 81,322 obsolete ones, liberating 4.34 lakh sq ft—Coal Ministry topped with 1,88,687 sq ft, Heavy Industries added 62,129 sq ft.
The 27th Secretariat Reforms edition dissects these innovations. December scrap fetched ₹115.85 crore from star performers like Railways, Heavy Industries, Coal. Record management culled from 1,82,000 files reviewed.
Grievance handling excelled: 5,57,852 cases (90.41%) closed, plus 1,032 MP matters and 375 state ones. Active file transactions fell from 7.19 in 2021 to 4.31, streamlining workflows.
Digital momentum builds: Nearly 94% new files electronic, 95% receipts digitized, 65 ministries at 90%+ e-files, 15 with 100% e-receipts for January 26. This initiative proves waste reduction drives revenue, space savings, and modern governance.
