Marking a bold step in its India journey, Amazon inaugurated its second-biggest Asian office in Bengaluru on Monday—a 1.1 million square foot, 12-level marvel hosting over 7,000 employees in e-commerce, ops, payments, tech, and seller services.
Karnataka’s MSME and Infrastructure Minister M.B. Patil oversaw the launch, lauding it as proof of India’s tech prowess. ‘Expanses like this spawn quality employment, fortify local synergies, and drive digital progress; we hail long-view investments nurturing our talent pool,’ he affirmed.
Amid $40 billion invested so far, Amazon eyes another $35 billion by 2030. Airport-adjacent at 15 km, the site champions unity, agility, education, and wellness via smart architecture.
‘Long a base for our trailblazing squads, Bengaluru endures as an innovation dynamo,’ said Amazon India head Samir Kumar. Amenities dazzle with sports facilities, an amphitheater, lawns, and outdoor hubs. Global eats await in the dual-floor dining hall.
Pioneering sustainability, it employs sourced responsibly materials, reused assets, and low-emission tech. Amazon’s Bengaluru bet underscores India’s tech ascent, promising jobs, innovation, and economic vitality for the foreseeable future.
