A new era dawned at Lucknow’s Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences as Governor Anandiben Patel laid the cornerstone for the Patient Relative Accommodation (PRA) building Tuesday. The occasion also featured the ribbon-cutting for next-gen radiology diagnostics: sophisticated CT scans, sonography units, and X-ray installations.
Engaging deeply with staff, Patel gathered insights on the facilities’ readiness. She envisioned the PRA as a lifeline for distant kin of ailing patients, instructing the formulation of bias-free rules that uplift low-income groups. Hygiene topped her agenda—rooms must be vacated immaculately, external foods stringently monitored, and diets religiously followed for optimal patient outcomes.
In a proactive move, she recommended a ‘Garbh Sanskar’ initiative to counsel pregnant women on nutrition and mindset’s profound effects on unborn children. Greeting the audience with advance Holi wishes, Patel warned of synthetic colors’ perils, promoting nature-derived options. The director’s jaggery presentation added a cultural touch, and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak termed the projects cornerstones of healthcare fortification, applauding the institute’s trailblazing role in clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care across the nation.
