New Delhi witnessed strong words from Congress stalwart Sachin Pilot today, who decried the jailing of Youth Congress activists over an AI Summit protest and slammed the government’s foreign policy as compromised for Prime Minister’s personal glory.
Pilot welcomed the bail for IYC President Uday Bhanu Chib, insisting protest remains an inviolable democratic tool. He mocked the frenzy that led to grave charges against workers, pointing out Chib’s non-attendance. ‘How do five-six T-shirt-clad youths endanger India’s security?’ he probed, decrying the use of state power to crush voices.
Routine at major gatherings, protests crossed into vendetta here, with youth leaders imprisoned. ‘The regime panics at young Congress voices,’ Pilot noted, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them.
In lighter news, Pilot lauded new NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar’s oath-taking, extending warm wishes from his Rajasthan days to this pinnacle.
On PM Modi’s Israel trip, Pilot flagged poor timing clashing with India’s two-nation advocacy. ‘Diplomacy serves country, not egos,’ he stressed. The last decade’s policies, tethered to personal ties, risk national harm. ‘India first—beyond any leader or party. Oppose these image-chasing compromises outright,’ he asserted firmly.
