Marking a milestone in community education, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta opened the Savitri Devi Goyal Institute of Computer Education and Reading Room in Nangloi on Sunday. Organized by Seva Bharati at Raghunath Dharmshala, the facility embodies the ‘Viksit Bharat’ ethos by prioritizing digital empowerment.
Gupta proclaimed, ‘Each reading room and computer hub advances us towards a developed nation.’ He stressed that in the digital epoch, computer skills are non-negotiable, integrating seamlessly into the broader spectrum of literacy.
Reflecting on his academic past near Delhi School of Economics, Gupta fondly recalled libraries like Ratan Tata in Timarpur as sanctuaries for focused preparation for exams like IAS and IPS. This new space, he assured, would serve the same purpose for today’s aspirants.
He rallied the community to contribute actively—be it through book donations, volunteering, or funding—to nurture the center as a collective triumph. Gupta lauded Seva Bharati and the Goyal family’s dedication in providing 15 computers and a conducive reading environment for needy students.
This inauguration transcends bricks and mortar; it’s about igniting potential in resource-scarce youth, particularly the economically vulnerable, by granting access to tech and study facilities. The result? A stronger foundation for their future endeavors.
Addressing the crowd, RSS’s Vishal emphasized joint ventures in education and social harmony via digital means. He envisioned the institute as a game-changer for students unable to afford premium education, offering low-cost training to build skills and confidence.
Ultimately, Gupta predicted a ripple effect: more centers, heightened discipline, service spirit, and learning culture, yielding widespread societal gains. This model exemplifies how localized actions propel national progress.
