Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sounded the call for spotless villages this Holi. A targeted cleanliness and disinfection campaign kicks off March 2 across UP’s gram panchayats, running through March 4, to safeguard festivities from health hazards.
Strict enforcement is the mantra—no tolerance for sanitation slip-ups during peak festival times. Emphasis on rural mosquito control will feature prominently, with DMs and CDOs on monitoring duty.
Cleanup will transform key sites: pyre grounds, bathing areas, ponds, ghats, and Amrit Sarovars. Heavy-duty fogging, larva eradication, and waste segregation are non-negotiable. Pre-festival and post-celebration drives prevent any mess buildup, backed by scientific disposal at panchayat resource hubs.
Flood areas get lasting drainage overhauls to combat dengue and malaria threats. Local bodies will restore and secure water body access points. Rigorous, real-time oversight promises effective implementation, ensuring UP’s rural Holi is as clean as it is colorful.
