Sunday brought cheers to Andhra Pradesh’s legal fraternity as CJI Justice Suryakant launched pivotal projects in Amaravati: foundation for the cutting-edge Judicial Academy, inauguration of High Court judges’ residences, and groundwork for a plush guest house.
These initiatives, integral to Amaravati’s master plan, equip the judiciary with top-tier resources. The academy’s Rs 165 crore investment yields 2.05 lakh sq ft hosting 120 judges per session amid academic, lodging, sports, and training prowess.
At Rs 210 crore over 33.20 acres, the 36-unit residential complex offers expansive G+1 villas (7,841 sq ft) with custom offices, halls, and foresight for 13 more, adapting to judicial expansion.
The guest house, budgeted Rs 69.40 crore on 6,300 sq ft (G+3), blends functionality with nature—80% green amid 20% build—and high accessibility to HC via 25m/50m roads, just 1.2 km distant.
Dignitaries like CM N Chandrababu Naidu, AP HC CJ Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, SC Justices JK Maheshwari, PS Narasimha, Prashant Kumar Mishra, SVN Bhatti, and Joymalya Bagchi graced the occasion. CJI previewed developmental videos.
From Tirupati’s district court foundation earlier, his wisdom rang: Bar and bench unite as institutional limbs, where robust bar performance hones judicial depth, clarity, and trust in legal governance.
