Geopolitical flare-ups have forced CBSE’s hand once more. The board postponed Class 10 and 12 exams slated for March 5 and 6 in Middle Eastern outposts, citing the Iran-Israel conflict’s risks.
Impacted nations include Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. This Tuesday, March 3 decision builds on the March 2 deferral, born from ongoing threat evaluations.
A March 5 reassessment looms, poised to shape post-March 7 exam plans. Revised timetables will follow suit. Students must stick to official school and board advisories, warned CBSE Exam Controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj.
The notice circulated widely to Indian envoys in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tehran, Dubai’s consulate general, and CBSE’s Dubai regional hub for immediate action.
Since February 17, CBSE exams have rolled out across 26 global venues. Disruptions confine to these Gulf areas, sparing India and others. Safety first, says the board, committing to swift, circumstance-driven updates.
