Thursday marked a pivotal step in India’s fight for better health as NITI Aayog and UNICEF India sealed a Letter of Intent in New Delhi. Centered on Aspirational Districts and Blocks, the pact promises targeted interventions to uplift nutrition and health standards in underdeveloped pockets.
Rohit Kumar of NITI Aayog and Arjan de Waagt of UNICEF India signed the document, uniting their resources to propel improvements in mother-child nutrition amid deprivation. The effort prioritizes stakeholder synergy and resilient block-level systems for interventions.
‘This program thrives on collaboration and analytics; UNICEF’s expertise will sharpen our response to nutrition crises, bridging gaps in service reach,’ Kumar affirmed.
Through Impact4Nutrition, UNICEF will guide CSR investments to fortify Anganwadi setups, nutrition education, ICDS access, and frontline capacities. Core activities encompass engaging CSR allies, spurring community action, and bolstering platforms for sharing scalable innovations.
The signing reaffirms both entities’ dedication to robust partnerships, empirical methods, and orchestrated efforts involving all sectors, heralding transformative gains in public health and nutrition across India’s aspirational landscapes.
