Chaos reigned in Ghaziabad’s Manapur Industrial Area as a paint factory and scrap depot on Meerut Road succumbed to a raging fire late Thursday. Black smoke choked the horizon, prompting a frantic emergency mobilization.
Kotwali fire station’s alert led to rapid deployment of four tenders from Vaishali and Kotwali. On-site, the inferno’s heat warped metal frameworks, toppling a wall and roof sections, which impeded suppression efforts.
Undeterred, responders enlisted a JCB to dismantle obstacles, facilitating direct assaults with hoses. The operation ballooned with 20 fire engines converging from Sahibabad, Modinagar, Loni, Hapur, Meerut, and Gautam Buddh Nagar, bolstered by advanced towers.
Encircling the core, firefighters subdued the flames after grueling hours, safeguarding five to six proximate factories. No injuries occurred, thanks to prompt action. Site cooling and cause investigation are ongoing priorities.
