Seized were elite firearms: 9mm Glock, PX5 in .30 bore, Taurus 9mm, Pakistan’s Greta 9mm, plus another .30 bore pistol, complemented by 34 live cartridges and a sharp-edged tool—evidence of a well-equipped criminal outfit.
Via X, DGP Punjab disclosed that questioning uncovered social media conduits linking arrestees to overseas traffickers. The guns slipped across the frontier stealthily, destined for underground markets in assorted locales.
Arms Act violations prompted an FIR at Makboolpura station, fueling a wide-ranging inquiry to eradicate the full conspiracy. Officials pledged relentless pursuit of arms runners and organized criminals plaguing the state.
Preceding this, Amritsar’s February 28 sweep shattered two smuggling cells, capturing 10 suspects, 5.438 kg heroin, three top-tier guns (9mm Glock, 9mm Zigana, 32 bore), 34 ammo pieces, and petty cash. Digital footprints traced to Pakistani masterminds orchestrating precise deliveries of vice.
