Advocate Madhusudan Mishra, fondly called Kanchan Mishra, was midway to his daughter’s house with milk from court in Hathua’s Nayagaon Tulsiya, close to Shivji Upadhyay’s home.
The assailants’ ferocious knife assault left him profusely bleeding and fighting for life. Frantic neighbors transported him urgently to Sadar Hospital, where physicians, alarmed by his deteriorating health, referred him to a superior trauma center.
Responding rapidly, police cordoned the area and initiated a multi-pronged investigation. Hathua SDPO Anand Mohan Gupta quashed pistol-related misinformation: ‘Confirmed knife-only attack, rooted in a legal dispute the lawyer was involved in.’ Mishra echoed this, implicating case foes.
