A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Directorate of Horticulture, Jharkhand and the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, in the Chief Minister’s chamber at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this MoU will lead to the development and expansion of the horticulture sector in the state. This will directly benefit the farmers and increase their income. Benefits of modern technology and services in horticulture With the MoU with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, productivity, quality, and value will be enhanced in fruits, vegetables, ornamental, medicinal, and mushroom crops in the state. Also, modern technology, research, and training and services will be available in the horticulture sector. On the occasion of signing this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department Mrs. Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Chief Secretary Shri Avinash Kumar, Secretary of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department Shri Abu Bakar Siddiqui, and other officials were present.
