Delhi liquor scam kingpin still out; Anurag Thakur’s attack on Kejriwal

After the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanyaj Singh, the politics of accusation and counter-accusation is continuing between the ruling BJP and the opposition parties. Today in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has indirectly attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and others are in jail in the excise policy case, but the kingpin of the alleged scam is still out and his turn will also come.

While discussing with the media in Raipur, Anurag Thakur said that those who came to power by raising the slogan of ‘India Against Corruption’, have now been found immersed in corruption. When asked about Kejriwal’s allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in this case on Wednesday, Thakur said, “People are laughing at Arvind Kejriwal ji and his face is But tension can be seen. These are the people who came with the slogan of ‘India Against Corruption’ and now were found immersed in corruption.

He said, β€œHe came to power in Punjab and within two months the health minister of the Punjab government had to resign due to corruption. Kejriwal ji has no answer to the liquor scam which has embarrassed him. Till now the Deputy Chief Minister and others have gone to jail but the kingpin is still out. The investigation is going on and the kingpin’s turn will also come.

Anurag Thakur said, “Those to whom Kejriwal had distributed certificates of honesty are in jail for the last one year.” Who gave them the right to distribute certificates?

He also targeted the Congress governments of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and said, “Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are two states where serious allegations of corruption were made against officials close to the Chief Minister and crores of rupees and gold were recovered from them. He (Chief Minister) should have resigned. But he has not left the post yet. Now people will oust him (in the upcoming assembly elections).

When asked about the caste census of the Bihar government, Thakur said, “Modi ji has said that his government is for the poor, the deprived and the exploited. The largest community is poor and we have to bring them out of poverty. In the last years of the government led by Modi ji, 18.5 crore people have come out of the poverty line. Statistics show that a lot of work has been done for the welfare of the poor in the country.” He said that Congress and its other allies no longer have any issue, so now they are doing caste politics.
