New Delhi: At the least 40 individuals have been rescued to this point after a big boat capsized within the Brahmaputra river following a colliding with a ferry close to Nimati Ghat in Jorhat district of Assam on Wednesday (September 8).

The incident occurred when non-public boat ‘Ma Kamala’, headed to Majuli from Nimati Ghat, collided with the government-owned ferry ‘Tripkai’ which was coming from Majuli. “The boat ‘Ma Kamala’ capsized after which sank.
