New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has initiated an investigation into Alphabet’s Google, alleging that the tech giant has exploited its dominant position within the country’s online market. The commission noted that it believes Google has potentially breached certain sections of the Act, namely Section 4(2)(a), Section 4(2)(b), and Section 4(2)(c), based on initial observations. The Karnataka government on Friday announced the handover of the investigation of the case filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The order for this transfer was issued by the office of Karnataka’s Director General and Inspector General of Police, Alok Mohan.
