…but don’t get any help
A CCTV footage of this incident has also surfaced. In the CCTV footage, the injured and semi-nude girl is going from one house to another for help, but no help is being received. This has spread a lot of anger among the people. CCTV footage shows that when she goes outside a house, a man is seen chasing her away. After this, he got help only after reaching a neighboring ashram.
She was very scared…
The priest said that the girl was talking to him, but he could not understand her properly. He said, “We asked her name, about her family… We assured her that she was safe and that she should tell us about her family so that we could contact them, but she was very scared.
…then she tries to hide behind me
The priest said that the girl was able to trust him again. Meanwhile he was waiting for the police to arrive. He said, “Whenever anyone else would come near her, she would try to hide behind me. Then the police came and took her away.” The priest said that the girl was talking about some place, wanted to explain, but he could not understand about that place.
Officials said that the police have formed a special investigation team to investigate the incident. A case of rape has been registered and stringent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act have been invoked.
Meanwhile, State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Wednesday that the girl’s condition is now stable.
