The FASTag annual pass, introduced on August 15, 2025, offers a convenient way to travel on national highways. This initiative by the National Highway Authority of India aims to enhance the commuting experience, providing savings in both time and fuel. The annual pass is designed to be a cost-effective option for those who frequently travel, allowing for up to 200 toll-free crossings annually, thereby avoiding the standard per-trip toll fees.
This pass is specifically for owners of private vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans, providing toll-free access to designated National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) fee plazas. The pass is valid for a year or until 200 crossings have been made. The FASTag annual pass was launched in conjunction with Independence Day celebrations.
To activate the annual pass, users must utilize either the Rajmargyatra mobile application or the NHAI website. Essential documentation includes the Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), a passport-sized photograph of the vehicle owner, KYC documents, and proof of identity and address.
