Audi India is lowering prices on its models due to the implementation of new GST rates. This decision follows similar moves by numerous other automakers in the country. The price cuts are a direct result of changes in the tax structure, specifically the removal of the compensation cess on passenger vehicles.
These price adjustments represent savings of between ₹2.60 lakh and ₹7.80 lakh depending on the specific model. Audi India anticipates an increase in sales, particularly during the upcoming festive period, due to these more competitive prices.
The previous GST system levied a 28% tax plus a compensation cess ranging from 15% to 22% on cars exceeding 4 meters. The new system increases the GST to 40%, but eliminates the compensation cess, resulting in an overall reduction in taxes.
The Q3 SUV’s starting price is now ₹43.07 lakh, a decrease from ₹46.14 lakh. The A4 is available from ₹46.2 lakh, previously ₹48.89 lakh. The Q7’s starting price is now ₹86.14 lakh, down from ₹92.29 lakh. The Q5 starts at ₹63.75 lakh, reduced from ₹68.30 lakh. The A6 is now priced at ₹63.74 lakh, down from ₹67.38 lakh, and the Q8 now has a starting price of ₹1.10 crore, compared to the previous ₹1.18 crore.
Interested buyers can find specific pricing details for each Audi model and variant at their local dealerships or on the official Audi India website.
