The SUV market is heating up, with several manufacturers preparing to launch exciting new models. If you’re in the market for an SUV, it might be worth delaying your purchase. Hyundai and Mahindra, among others, have significant launches planned, including facelifts and new variants, before the upcoming festive season.
**Mahindra Bolero: A New Generation**
Mahindra is planning a series of new vehicle launches soon. The upcoming new-generation Mahindra Bolero has been spotted during its final testing stages. The company has worked to revamp the Bolero, a popular vehicle in smaller cities.
Following the release of the Bolero Neo a few years ago and multiple facelifts of the older generation Bolero, Mahindra appears to be developing a completely new model. This redesigned Bolero has been likened to the G-Wagon and Land Rover Defender. The new Bolero is anticipated to launch within the current fiscal year.
**Maruti Suzuki Escudo: A New Contender**
Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a new 5-seater SUV, which is expected to be called the Escudo. Positioned between the existing Vitara Brezza and Grand Vitara, this new SUV will compete with the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. The Escudo is designed to appeal to buyers seeking a more premium SUV than the Vitara Brezza at a competitive price point. It is likely to feature the existing 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, possibly with hybrid technology.
**Kia Seltos: Facelift Incoming**
After recently launching the Clavis, Kia is readying a facelift for the Seltos SUV. The vehicle has been seen undergoing testing in both Korea and India. Kia is moving towards more sustainable powertrains. The new Seltos could incorporate a hybrid setup alongside existing engine options.
**Tata Sierra EV: Electric Future**
The all-new Tata Sierra is nearing the end of its pre-production testing and is expected to launch soon after the Tata Harrier EV. The ICE variant is also being tested and will likely be launched soon. Tata plans to release an EV version of the Sierra following the launch of the conventional model.
**Kia Clavis EV: Electric Expansion**
Kia is also planning to release an all-electric version of the Clavis. The EV will feature changes, including a redesigned front grille and an EV powertrain designed for a range of around 460 kilometers.
**Hyundai Venue: Facelift Coming**
The Hyundai Venue will receive a facelift, featuring a new front fascia similar to the Hyundai Alcazar. Testing of this model is underway, alongside the new Kia Seltos. Potential buyers in this segment should consider waiting. The Venue facelift is expected to be revealed in October.
