The Indian market is seeing the introduction of E20 petrol, a blend containing 20% ethanol. While modern vehicles are engineered for this fuel, concerns have surfaced regarding its compatibility with older models, especially those under the BS3 classification. Ethanol, derived from renewable sources like sugarcane and maize, is intended to lower emissions.
In response to consumer concerns, Bajaj recommends a specific approach for BS3 vehicles. The advised method involves incorporating a fuel cleaner when using E20 petrol. Specifically, adding 40ml of fuel cleaner to each full tank of petrol, and doing this every 1000 kilometers, can mitigate potential issues in BS3 motorcycles. This guidance was shared by Bajaj during a recent motorcycle launch event.
