Mercedes-Benz celebrates a major production achievement with its G-Class SUV, having produced 600,000 units at the Graz, Austria plant. The milestone vehicle, a G 580 model, showcases the integration of EQ technology and is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic. The G-Class, which debuted in 1979, continues to lead in both style and performance.
The G-Class maintains its iconic design, with its round headlights, boxy silhouette, and exposed spare tire contributing to its timeless appeal. The new generation G-Class combines powerful features with a striking aesthetic. The all-electric G 580 EQ model enhances the vehicle’s exterior design.
Mercedes-Benz has expanded the G-Class beyond a simple vehicle, offering extensive customization options. The MANUFAKTUR program, introduced in 2019, allows customers to personalize their G-Class, with over 1 million combinations available since 2024, including approximately 20,000 paint options.
A significant portion of owners, nearly 90 percent, have selected features through the MANUFAKTUR program. The G-Class is recognized for its off-road prowess, featuring all-wheel drive, 100% locking differentials, and a strong ladder-frame chassis. The SUV now integrates advanced driver-assistance systems and sophisticated infotainment features.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a five-seater, full-size SUV, with a starting price of ₹2.55 crore. It is offered in two variants, powered by a 2,925 cc engine and paired with an automatic transmission. The G-Class includes nine airbags and provides a ground clearance of 241 mm (unladen), and is available in five color options.
