Hyundai is aggressively planning to regain its market share in India with a focus on new vehicle introductions and technological upgrades. The automaker is set to develop a new 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine in India. This engine is intended to power various models, including the next-generation Creta. Furthermore, Hyundai plans to equip both the Creta and the Palisade with hybrid powertrains to comply with forthcoming emission norms. The Creta is expected to utilize the new 1.2-liter engine, while the Palisade could come with a 1.6-liter diesel hybrid, a 2.5-liter engine, or potentially the V6 engine that is offered internationally. The Bayon hatchback will also feature the 1.2-liter engine, which will bridge the gap between Hyundai’s existing 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbo engines. The engine is designed to support battery-assisted powertrain technology.
