Toyota Kirloskar Motor has achieved sales of more than 1.2 million units. The Vice President (Sales-Service Used Car Business) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor noted the deep emotional connection the Innova has forged with its customers over the past two decades.
The Innova has undergone three updates since its launch. The initial generation, built on a ladder-frame chassis, replaced the Toyota Qualis. The Innova Crysta, launched in 2016, featured design changes, new engines, and additional features. The Innova Hycross, introduced in 2022, utilizes a monocoque platform and a front-wheel-drive layout with a self-charging hybrid powertrain, integrating a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and an e-CVT gearbox. Toyota claims that the Hycross achieves the best mileage in its segment. By November 2024, sales of the Hycross had surpassed 1 lakh units.
The Innova holds significant strategic importance for Toyota in India. Its popularity spans private, commercial, and institutional sectors. Continuous improvements in safety, comfort, and emission standards highlight its adaptation to the evolving trends in the Indian automotive industry. The Innova Crysta’s base model has an ex-showroom price starting at INR 19.99 lakh, rising to INR 27.18 lakh for the top model. The Innova Hycross ranges from INR 19.14 lakh to INR 32.58 lakh ex-showroom. Mileage varies depending on the powertrain: the petrol variant achieves 16.13 km/liter, while the strong hybrid version reaches up to 23.24 km/liter. The Crysta offers 11.5 km/liter for the 2.7L petrol manual, with real-world figures around 8 to 9.5 km/liter. The 2.4L diesel manual offers 15.1 km/liter, with practical mileage between 12.5 and 14 km/liter.
