Renault India is focusing on expanding its model range with the addition of a new EV hatchback, potentially the Kwid EV. The test vehicle, which has been seen in Tamil Nadu, appears to be a version of the Dacia Spring EV, currently available in global markets. The rebadged Kwid EV may use the Dacia Spring’s 26.8 kWh battery pack, promising a range of approximately 220 km. This EV hatchback may alternatively be an Indian-specific model incorporating locally sourced parts to keep the price competitive. Recent test sightings reveal new design details, including revised tail lights, steel wheels, and a rear wiper. The Dacia Spring, which the Kwid EV could be based on, has different power outputs, including 44 BHP and 64 BHP versions. The Dacia Spring has varying range and charging specifications depending on the specific model. Renault may also release an ICE version of the Kwid EV, building on the success of the previous ICE Kwid model.
