A SpiceJet passenger on a Mumbai to Bengaluru flight had an unfortunate experience, spending the entire flight locked inside the aircraft’s restroom. The airline has issued an apology and offered a refund, but the unusual event has captured public attention.
The trapped passenger was finally assisted after the flight landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers promptly intervened to open the jammed toilet door.
The incident took place on a Monday night flight, which was delayed by two hours. The flight departed from Mumbai at 2:10 AM instead of the scheduled 10:55 PM. A passenger seated in 14D entered the lavatory shortly after takeoff. However, the door malfunctioned, trapping the individual.
Unable to open the door, the crew attempted to comfort the passenger. They slipped a handwritten note under the door, requesting the passenger to remain seated until the flight arrived in Bengaluru.
The note was widely shared on social media, eliciting humorous reactions. The flight landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM. The airline expressed its regret and apologized for the disruption.
