The Maruti Suzuki Fronx compact SUV has set a new record, with its production reaching over 500,000 units. The Fronx, which was introduced in March 2023, has been a popular vehicle from the start. The demand for the Fronx is high, not only in India but also in foreign markets. Recently, its exports have also crossed the 1 lakh unit mark. A notable point is that one out of every five Fronx vehicles is exported from India.
The Fronx is the first ‘Made-in-India’ SUV to be exported to Japan. In the FY2024-25, it was also the most exported passenger car in India. It is also among the top 10 selling cars in the domestic market. The Fronx’s growth has been very rapid. By December 2023, it had reached the 1 lakh production mark. In June 2024, it reached 2 lakhs, by November 2024 it reached 3 lakhs and in February 2025 it crossed the 4 lakh mark. The company has now reached the 5 lakh mark in July 2025.
