Maruti Suzuki is enjoying an exceptional festive season, marked by unprecedented demand. Bookings have reached 2.5 lakh, and exports have increased by 50 percent. The company delivered 1,65,000 vehicles in the first eight days of Navratri and anticipates reaching 2,00,000 deliveries by Dussehra, exceeding the previous decade’s records. This robust performance is fueled by strong customer response, with current bookings at 2.5 lakh units. Sales have nearly doubled compared to the previous year’s Navratri deliveries of 1 lakh vehicles, attributed to the GST reform. Export figures also show a 50 percent growth, with 42,000 vehicles shipped. The production team is working overtime, including weekends and holidays, to satisfy the high demand. A positive outlook is expected for October, with 2.5 lakh bookings pending. The focus remains on prompt vehicle deliveries. The GST Council’s rate cut announcement in August prompted many potential buyers to book cars, contributing to the surge in demand. Daily bookings have surged from around 10,000 to 18,000. Significant growth is seen in small car sales, with a 100 percent increase. Metropolitan areas are experiencing a growth of approximately 35-40 percent.
