Stellantis is exploring the possible sale of Maserati, its only luxury brand, according to recent reports. The move is part of a larger strategy to streamline Stellantis’ extensive brand portfolio. Discussions predate the new CEO’s arrival, Antonio Fliosa. Maserati has struggled with falling sales, exacerbated by tariffs and increased competition. In 2024, sales decreased by more than half, reaching just 11,300 units, resulting in an operational loss of €260 million. The company has no new models in the pipeline. The board is divided over Maserati’s future, with selling the brand as a viable option. Stellantis acknowledges the difficulties in managing its large number of brands.
