A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru was the scene of an extraordinary event, as a passenger found themselves confined to the aircraft’s lavatory for the duration of the flight. The airline has apologized and offered a refund to the passenger. The incident unfolded on a flight that was delayed by two hours, departing Mumbai at 2:10 AM on Monday. Shortly after takeoff, the passenger, occupying seat 14D, entered the restroom and discovered the door jammed. Despite efforts by the crew to open the door, it remained locked. The crew then resorted to communicating with the passenger via a note slipped under the door, which asked the passenger to remain calm and stay seated until the flight landed in Bengaluru. Upon arrival at around 3:45 AM, ground staff and engineers were able to open the door. The situation quickly gained attention on social media, with the crew’s note becoming a focal point of online commentary.
