A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru saw a passenger enduring an embarrassing and uncomfortable experience – being trapped inside the aircraft’s lavatory for the entire flight. The airline has offered an apology and reportedly offered a refund to the passenger. The drama unfolded in the air and left people in shock. The passenger was eventually freed after the plane landed in Bengaluru. Ground crew and engineers acted quickly to open the malfunctioning and locked toilet door. The incident occurred on Monday night. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight was delayed by two hours, taking off at 2:10 AM instead of its scheduled 10:55 PM departure. The passenger, who was in seat 14D, entered the restroom shortly after takeoff and got stuck because the door lock jammed. Despite the passenger’s efforts and the crew’s attempts to open the door, they were unsuccessful. The crew provided a handwritten note to the passenger through a gap in the door. The note asked the passenger not to panic and to stay seated on the toilet seat until the flight landed in Bengaluru. The note went viral online, and many netizens were amused, with some commenting on the handwriting. The plane touched down in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. Airport engineers subsequently opened the door. The airline has issued a statement of regret and apologized for the distress caused.
