KTM appears to be expanding its lineup with a new 500cc twin-cylinder engine, intended for adventure and naked bikes. A faired RC model has been spotted during testing, hinting at an RC variant. The images show the RC model as nearly production-ready. The engine of the KTM RC 490 might be sourced from CFMoto, along with the primary chassis. The exhaust design is similar to CFMoto models. This engine layout is different from the previously spotted KTM prototypes, increasing the likelihood of the RC 490 name. The current RC 390 still utilizes the 373cc engine. KTM is possibly exploring a new engine for the next-generation RC. The future of this bike in India remains unclear, raising questions about local assembly, availability, and pricing.
