Starting August 15th, a new toll policy is taking effect nationwide. This policy introduces an annual toll pass costing only 3,000 rupees. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is actively working to ensure that the toll pass scheme is not misused. The scheme is currently limited to non-commercial vehicles. To address potential misuse, such as commercial vehicles attempting to use the pass, the ministry is integrating the scheme with applications like Vahan-e-Parivahan and systems that can distinguish between commercial and non-commercial vehicles. Initially, the benefits will be exclusive to non-commercial vehicles. A dedicated system is being developed to restrict commercial vehicles from utilizing the pass.
