According to the Transport Department’s data, a total of 30.52 lakh e-challans were issued between 2017 and 2021. Out of these, 17.59 lakh had already been resolved, while 12.93 lakh were still pending. Of the pending challans, 10.84 lakh were in courts and 1.29 lakh were pending at the office level. These challans will now be digitally terminated within the next 30 days. The department has stated that the status of these challans will be updated on the e-challan portal within a month, which vehicle owners can easily check online.
