In a world fixated on the latest gadgets, Kanwardeep Jaura of Saharanpur stands out for his devotion to vintage automobiles. He champions the elegance and historical significance of classic cars, offering a tangible link to the past. Fueled by a lifelong love for vehicles, Jaura began his restoration journey with the idea of buying old cars and bringing them back to their former glory. He has since restored a range of vehicles, including a 1954 Dodge Convertible, a 1932 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan, a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle, and a 1929 Chevrolet Series AC International. His efforts have led to the creation of AJ Motoarts in Saharanpur. Beyond restoration, Jaura also produces replicas of iconic cars. These replicas, such as those of the Ford Model T, Corvettes, Alfa Romeos, and Shelby Cobras, are meticulously crafted. The Mercedes W 125 Silver Arrow replica is a particularly striking example. Jaura meticulously adheres to original designs, using vintage images for reference and even participating in the physical restoration process. Many of his replicas feature EV powertrains, catering to a demand for sustainable driving experiences on private property. His passion extends to creating unique Art Deco-inspired furniture pieces using repurposed automotive components. He cites the difficulty in importing parts and the rarity of vehicles as hurdles. Yet, his dedication has kept automotive history alive, with the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette holding a special place in his heart.
