The flight, which was delayed by two hours, departed Mumbai at 2:10 AM. After takeoff, the passenger, occupying seat 14D, entered the lavatory. The door’s locking mechanism failed, leaving the passenger trapped. Despite efforts by the crew to unlock the door, they were unsuccessful.
As a gesture of reassurance, the crew passed a note under the door, urging the passenger to remain calm and stay in the restroom until the flight landed in Bengaluru. A photo of the note went viral, leading to widespread amusement and commentary online. The plane landed at 3:45 AM in Bengaluru. Ground staff eventually opened the door. The airline has since issued an apology and expressed its regret for the inconvenience.
