Uttar Pradesh is revising its electric vehicle policy, with a major shift towards supporting local manufacturing. The government plans to offer subsidies exclusively to electric vehicles produced within the state. This proposal is currently under consideration, with the expectation of a final decision soon. The implementation of this new policy is targeted for October 14, 2025, marking the end of the initial three-year term of the EV policy launched in 2022. The revised policy is designed to stimulate the growth of EV manufacturing units, generate employment, and foster economic growth within the region.
