Empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir takes a concrete step forward in Rajouri, where 35 aspiring entrepreneurs have commenced PMEGP training at the J&K Bank RSETI. This EDP batch under the central government’s employment generation drive is poised to spawn a new cadre of self-made business leaders.
Supported by KVIC, DIC Rajouri, and KVIB, the training delves into core competencies: from project formulation and budgeting to sales tactics and subsidy procurement. With loan limits at Rs 20 lakh for services and Rs 50 lakh for manufacturing—plus 35% subsidy—barriers to entry are significantly lowered.
RSETI’s Sunil Sharma motivated attendees, highlighting commitment and innovation as success mantras. He shared optimism about the district’s youth embracing self-employment, crediting PMEGP’s proven efficacy across India. The 10-day format packs in foundational business skills for immediate application.
Trainees are vocal about their excitement. Aarti Sharma thanks the subsidy on her loan and looks forward to operational expertise. Mukhtar Ahmad finds the program pivotal for his loan-backed venture. Rakesh Raina, expanding his printing unit with Rs 10 lakh, urges peers to tap such opportunities.
PMEGP’s role in Rajouri exemplifies targeted intervention for border areas, driving local job creation and economic fortification. As these youth transition to entrepreneurs, they embody Atmanirbhar Bharat, promising prosperity and reduced unemployment for their communities.
