The Northeast receives a major thrust, with Rs 6,812 crore allocated to DoNER—Rs 897 crore more than before—highlighting the government’s developmental focus. Assam’s share in tax devolution is set at Rs 49,725 crore for the fiscal year, contributing to the cumulative Rs 3.12 lakh crore since 2014.
Healthcare innovation shines via the Rs 10,000 crore BioPharma Shakti mission, spanning five years to enhance domestic production of biologics and biosimilars. These advanced drugs, vital for managing cancers and autoimmune diseases, will benefit from upgraded infrastructure at places like NIPER Guwahati, spurring research, tech advancement, and skilled manpower.
Farmers stand to gain immensely from the Rs 1,32,561 crore agriculture allocation, with Rs 9,967 crore for education and research driving scientific breakthroughs. A Rs 1,70,944 crore fertilizer subsidy package ensures affordability, lowering overall farming costs. Chouhan concluded that this budget heralds a new era of equitable growth, innovation, and resilience across India.
