Union Minister Piyush Goyal celebrated Mother’s Day by distributing pregnancy nutrition kits to women in North Mumbai on Sunday. The drive highlights proactive steps toward better maternal and infant health in underserved communities.

At the event, Goyal described the kits as comprehensive packages for pregnancy’s closing phase and newborn care. ‘Designed with care, they support healthy outcomes for mothers and babies alike,’ he affirmed.

Goyal revealed ambitions to sustain the effort monthly across North Mumbai. ‘Our goal is seamless access for low and middle-income mothers, fostering family well-being,’ he told media personnel.

Paying tribute to women, he invoked cultural icons: ‘As Lakshmi and Durga incarnate, mothers and sisters excel everywhere, resisting wrong and constructing our future. I bow to their efforts.’

Earlier, Goyal conferred with Dr. MJ Khan, President of the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture, on uplifting farmers and extending India’s agri-expertise to African partners for Global South progress.

A prominent analyst in agriculture, business, and sustainability, Dr. Khan has spearheaded national organic policies and global leadership forums, enriching these vital discussions.
