The Chhattisgarh High Court has taken cognizance of the case of misbehavior with girl students by the District Education Officer (DEO) of Rajnandgaon and the threat of sending them to jail. The High Court took up the matter as a public interest litigation and has scheduled the next hearing of the case on September 12. Raipur. Shyamji Pandey, father of former Rajya Sabha member and senior BJP leader Saroj Pandey, died this morning at Sector 9 Hospital of Bhilai Steel Plant. He breathed his last at the age of 92. A wave of mourning has spread after the news of his death.

Today, on Monday at 2:00 pm, the last journey will start from his residence Maitri Nagar and he will be cremated on the banks of Shivnath river.

Saroj Pandey’s father’s full name was Shyamji Pandey. Shyamji Pandey, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was a teacher. He was the principal of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) school here. Saroj Pandey’s entire family earlier lived in BSP quarters.

The police registered a case under crime number 147/2024 and after tracking down the accused, arrested 4 accused (Vinod Kumar Jain, Vinay Kumar Jain, Upkar Jain and Daulat Singh) from Rajasthan. The other accused, Shivkrishna Gurjar and Omprakash Bhadana, are still absconding. The police brought all the accused to Pakhanjur on transit remand and produced them in the court.
