Police investigation revealed that the deceased’s cousin Amrit Sharma along with three others Bhojraj Nand, Anil Kumar Behera and Chitrasen Behera conspired to kidnap Prakash for ransom. Their intention was to collect a ransom of Rs 2 crore from Prakash’s father Satyanarayan Sharma, but their plan failed when they gave chloroform to Prakash and he died of suffocation.
