On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, a state level Teachers’ Honor Ceremony is being organized in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan from 11 am today under the chief hospitality of Governor Ramen Deka. This ceremony will be presided over by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, 55 teachers will be honored in the state level Teachers’ Honor Ceremony. Out of these, 52 teachers will be honored with the Governor Teachers’ Honor and 3 teachers will be honored with the State Teachers’ Honor Memorial Award in the name of great litterateurs of the state.

    State Teacher Samman Memorial Award year 2024

    On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, three teachers will be awarded the State Teachers’ Award in the name of three great literary figures of the state at a state level function. Among them, lecturer Dr. Rashmi Singh Dhurve of Bilaspur district will be awarded the “Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi Memorial Award”, teacher Rajarshi Pandey of Kabirdham district will be awarded the “Dr. Mukutdhar Pandey Memorial Award”, senior class teacher Dr. Sarita Sahu of Durg district will be awarded the “Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Memorial Award”.

    Today’s public darshan postponed

    Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s weekly public darshan on Thursdays has been postponed this Thursday, 5th September due to unavoidable reasons.

    Deputy CM Arun Sao will be involved in various programs today

    Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw will participate in various programs in Lormi of Mungeli district on September 5. He will leave for Lormi by road from Bilaspur at 10 am on September 5. He will participate in a local program at Charkhambha in Lormi at 11 am. Arun Saw will inaugurate various construction works done by the Municipal Corporation at Kabir Bhawan in Lormi at 12 noon. He will participate in the Shiksha Gaurav Alankaran ceremony there at 12:15 pm. Deputy CM Saw will meet people in his MLA office in Lormi from 3 pm to 4 pm. After that he will leave for Raipur from Lormi at 5:30 pm. He will reach Raipur at 7:30 pm.

    Home Minister Vijay Sharma will take a review meeting of the Bilaspur range of the police department today

    Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma will hold a review meeting of Bilaspur Range of Police Department during his visit to Bilaspur today. Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Jail Department of Chhattisgarh Government, Director General of Police, Secretary of Home Department, Inspector General of Police of Bilaspur Range and Superintendents of Police of districts of Bilaspur Range will be present in this meeting.

    In the meeting, the status of pending serious crimes, unsolved cases of blind murder, stabbing, sword fighting and firing will be reviewed. Along with this, the status of pending Murga cases, pending cases of National and State Human Rights Commission will also be reviewed. Discussion on pending cases of crimes against women and children and compensation to the victims, pending cases of human trafficking, cases of missing women, men and children, crimes against Scheduled Castes and Tribes and the status of distribution of relief amount will be reviewed. The updated status of chit fund cases, progress of investigation of cases registered under NDPS Act and the process of destruction of narcotics, crimes related to cows, vehicle seizure and confiscation proceedings, upcoming action plans regarding law and order of the district and best practices being implemented in the district will be discussed. Important works done by Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police will be reviewed.

    Date for filling exam form extended

    Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has extended the date for filling the examination form for self-study students appearing in High School and Higher Secondary Board Examination. Self-study students can fill the form from 9th September to 25th September with special late fee.

The price of quarter (paua) of different brands has been increased by up to Rs 40. According to the order issued, the rates of White and Blue, Frontline, Windsor, Royal Passion, Otter Dark, All Season, White Rabbit, Black and White, 100 Pipers Deluxe, AC Black, Double Black as well as Jammu Deluxe Whiskey have been increased.

    The price of a quarter of Jammu Deluxe Whiskey has been increased by Rs 40, while the price of Simba Edition beer has increased by Rs 30. These increased rates have been implemented from September 1. Earlier, the prices of liquor were increased in April.

  • Bank manager freed from bribery charges after death, wife along with sons fought her husband’s battle in court…

    Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. After death, the bank manager was freed from the charge of taking bribe. In the case that lasted for 22 years, the wife of the bank manager along with her sons fought the case in the High Court and won. The bank manager was accused of taking bribe in lieu of giving loan for digging borewell under the government scheme.     In fact, Rajendra Kumar Yadav, a resident of Durg, was working as a branch manager in the Bemetara branch of Agriculture and Land Development Bank in the year 2000-01. During this time, farmer Dhirendra Kumar Shukla, a resident of village Eramsahi Navagarh block, applied for a loan under the government scheme for digging a borewell in the name of his father Rajendra Narayan Shukla. On this application, branch manager Rajendra Kumar Yadav asked to deposit a processing fee of Rs 526. On this, the farmer complained to Lokayukta Raipur about the branch manager demanding bribe.

    On the complaint, Lokayukta sent the complainant to the bank manager with the chemical-coated currency in May 2001 and trapped and detained the branch manager. In this case, the special judge in January 2003 sentenced the branch manager to 6 months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 1 year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 under section 13 (D) 1. The branch manager appealed against this decision in the High Court. While the appeal was pending, the appellant branch manager died.

    After the death of her husband, wife Uttam Kumari Yadav along with her sons Prashant Yadav and Nishant Yadav took the case forward. After 22 years, the final hearing on the appeal was held in the High Court in August. The High Court found in the case that the complainant had paid Rs 526 as processing fee to the appellant. The trap team said that four currency notes of Rs 100 each were seized from his pocket.

    During the hearing, it came to light that the team had taken out 7-8 currency notes from the pocket of the appellant. The number of the notes given as bribe is also not recorded. The appellant said in his defence that the complainant had paid the processing fee, for which he was also given a receipt. The said receipt was also presented in the case. After the hearing, the High Court has acquitted the bank manager of the charge of taking bribe and rejected the decision of the lower court.

  • CG NEWS: Librarian who slapped a student suspended, other employees will also be punished

    Sudeep Upadhyay, Balrampur. The administration has taken major action in the case of slapping a class 9 student. The librarian (granthpal) who hit the student has been suspended after the incident. This entire case is of Higher Secondary School Pandri of Wadrafnagar development block.

    According to the information, a few days ago librarian Chakradhari Singh slapped a student in the ear. After the incident, the school management tried to suppress the matter. The victim student developed ear problems due to the slap, after which his family took him to a private hospital for treatment. On receiving the complaint of this incident, Joint Director Sarguja has suspended the librarian with immediate effect considering the seriousness of the matter. Sources say that action can also be taken against other school employees involved in this incident.

Questioning the law and order of the state, he demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the family of the deceased and registration of a case of culpable homicide against the guilty police officer.
