  • Tirupati Prasadam Row: Supreme Court Orders Independent SIT Probe Under CBI Supervision |

Amid the escalating row over the Tirupati Prasadam row, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered an independent SIT probe under the supervision of the CBI Director into the controversy. There are allegations that animal fat was used for preparing Tirupati laddus. The allegations first came from the ruling Telugu Desham Party (TDP). The Bench, which also includes Justice KV Viswanathan, emphasized that it has not delved into the allegations or counter-allegations, stating that it will not permit the Supreme Court to become a political battleground.

A Bench headed by Justice BR Gavai said that the new SIT should comprise two Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers, two officers from Andhra Pradesh Police and a senior official of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The Supreme Court emphasized that its order should not be interpreted as casting doubt on the independence or fairness of the members of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) established by the Andhra Pradesh Police. “We do not want this to turn into a political drama because the sentiments of crores of people across the world are involved. Therefore, if there is an independent body, everybody will have confidence,” it said.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Police have temporarily stalled the SIT probe ordered by the state government into the alleged adulteration of Tirupati laddus after the matter came under the top court’s scanner.

During the initial hearing on Monday, the Supreme Court noted that there was, at first glance, no evidence to suggest that animal fat had been used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus during the previous YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh.

It said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should have ‘kept the gods away from politics’ before rushing in to make public statements based on unsure facts that lard was used to prepare the laddus under the previous regime.

  • Mumbai Man Arrested For Duping Chennai Businessman Of Rs 2.82 Crore In Franchise Scam: Reports |

MUMBAI: A 32-year-old man named Pratik Radhakrishnan was arrested on Monday for duping a Chennai-based businessman, M S Rajendran, out of Rs 2.82 crore. Radhakrishnan, who had been previously employed as an assistant manager at a nationalized bank, orchestrated the scam by promising Rajendran the franchise rights for a reputable clothing brand, reported Times of India.

According to multiple reports, the incident dates back to 2019 when Pratik Radhakrishnan forged official documents, including the logo, seal, and signatures of high-level executives from the clothing company, to create a fake agreement. Over several instalments, Rajendran transferred a total of Rs 2.82 crore to Radhakrishnan, believing he would secure the franchise.

However, after two years of waiting, when Rajendran still had not received the promised licence, he demanded his money back. Instead of returning the amount, Pratik Radhakrishnan allegedly threatened the businessman, prompting Rajendran to file a complaint with the central crime branch’s entrustment document fraud (EDF) wing, said reports. Acting on the complaint, the EDF wing launched an investigation and arrested Radhakrishnan in Mumbai.

Pratik Radhakrishnan was remanded into judicial custody by a city court on Monday, said the TOI report. The police revealed that the former bank employee had meticulously planned the scam, using forged documents to convince Rajendran of the authenticity of the deal. His arrest has shed light on the elaborate fraud and serves as a warning to others about such scams. The police are continuing their investigation into whether the accused has been involved in similar fraudulent activities elsewhere.

  • MUDA Scam Complainant Alleges Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Others Trying To Destroy Evidence |

BENGALURU: Pradeep Kumar S P, one of the complainants in the MUDA case, on Thursday alleged that the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others were trying to destroy the evidence in the ‘scam’ and requested the Enforcement Directorate to initiate action against them. Lokayukta police on September 27 registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi B M, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju — from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy purchased land and gifted it to her — and others, following a Special Court order on September 25.

The order of the Special Court came a day after the High Court upheld the sanction granted by the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to conduct an investigation against Siddaramaiah. The ED has also registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), equivalent to an FIR by police, against the Chief Minister over the alleged irregularities in allotment of 14 sites to his wife by the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority).

The MUDA on Tuesday decided to take back the 14 plots allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife, following her decision to relinquish their ownership and possession. The MUDA has ordered to cancel the sale deed of these plots, its Commissioner A N Raghunandan had said. In a letter to ED, Kumar maintained that the status of the property cannot be disturbed without the Court permission.

“I respectfully submit that the Accused should be arrested immediately, failing which, the entire case evidence may be destroyed,” he said in his letter. “Lodge a complaint against the Chief Minister and others for destruction of evidence etc.” He said the proceeds of crime generated by the commission of the scheduled offences during the pendency of investigation is to be maintained and retained in the manner they were at the time of registration of ECIR.

This would enable the authorities to continue the investigation and take such steps as required and provided under the Act, Kumar said. “It appears in public domain that Parvathi has offered to return the proceeds of crime to the MUDA,” Kumar said, adding that based on such a decision, it has been reported that the commissioner of MUDA has changed the records in respect of the 14 sites, which is a subject matter of investigation.

“This is a serious interference in the investigation and an attempt to dissipate the proceeds of crime so as to render the investigation infructuous and misdirect the same,” he said and requested ED’s intervention in the matter. He requested ED to initiate action against the MUDA Commissioner for “altering the proceeds of crime”, inquire whether the office of the Chief Minister or the Chief Minister himself exerted pressure on him and other authorities and lodge a complaint against Siddaramaiah and others for “destruction of evidence.”

  • Uttar Pradesh: 3 Killed, Several Injured In Blast At Cracker Unit In Bareilly |

At least three persons were killed and as many injured following a blast at a firecracker manufacturing unit in a village here on Wednesday, police said.

The explosion, which took place in the Sirauli police station area, also caused damage to some adjoining buildings, they added.

The police said they are verifying the licence of the cracker unit’s operator Nasir.

A senior police officer said Nasir allegedly had the licence for another place but the house where the incident took place belonged to his in-laws.

“Three people have died and at least as many injured in an explosion at a firecracker making unit in Sirauli area of Bareilly district,” Inspector General (Bareilly Range) Rakesh Singh told PTI.

“The explosion has also led to damages in three-four adjoining buildings. The man operating the firecracker unit has been identified as one Nasir. He is said to have been in possession of a licence, details of which are being looked into,” Singh added.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident. He condoled the loss of lives and directed officials to ensure proper treatment of those injured in the blast.

IG Singh said he was headed to the spot to directly monitor the situation and relief operations, where other senior officials of the district, including police, have reached.

Local police teams, along with personnel from the health and fire departments, rushed to the spot soon after information about the incident to undertake the rescue work, officials said.

Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya said the incident occurred at around 4 pm.

“As per the preliminary investigation, it has been found that Nasir had a licence for explosives for some other place but the house in which the explosion occurred was of his in-laws,” said the SSP.

Denying the possibility of presence of some other explosive material leading to the blast, Arya said, “We have recovered remains of locally-made crackers from the spot. Prima facie it appears that the blast occurred because of them.”

The officer added that a probe into the matter is underway and appropriate action will be taken against those found involved in the incident.

Teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are still at the spot and are undertaking rescue work to ensure that nobody is left buried under the debris, the officials said.

  • PM Modi Slams JMM-Cong-RJD Alliance In Jharkhand, Calls Them ‘Hindrance To Development’ |

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the ruling alliance of Jharkhand, including JMM, Congress, and RJD, and said that this alliance is the biggest hindrance in the development of the state. He further said that JMM and Congress are busy carrying out a marathon of scams in Jharkhand.

“Now JMM has also been coloured by Congress and RJD. This is not the same old JMM. Today JMM has been taken over by the Congress ecosystem. Today JMM is haunted by the ghost of Congress—the language changed, the character changed, and now they are trying to change the soul of Jharkhand. JMM and Congress are busy conducting a marathon of scams in Jharkhand,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister was addressing a Parivartan Mahasabha in Hazaribagh. Continuing his attack at the ruling alliance, he said that when the central government is working day and night for the development of Jharkhand, the state government (the Hemant Soren-led government) is trying to derail the development of the state.

“The central government is working day and night for the development of Jharkhand, whereas, on the other hand, the state government (Hemant Soren-led government) is trying to derail the development of the state. Today everyone in the state knows that Congress JMM and RJD’s alliance is the biggest hindrance in the development of the state. Jharkhand will only grow and develop when the present government loses. Jharkhand will only grow when there is change in the state. Therefore, the Parivartan Yatra is underway in the state,” he said.

“I have heard that now, when he is about to leave, he has increased both the speed and scale of corruption. Thousands of transfers have taken place in Jharkhand in the last two weeks. Transfer-posting industry… this is a very big industry. JMM has made crores of rupees on the pretext of this. But now this game is not going to last long… soon the government will change in Jharkhand and every penny of this loot will be accounted for,” he further stated.

PM Modi lashed out at the grand old party and RJD and said that back before 2001, a party like RJD had made Jharkhand its place of loot and Congress was an equal shareholder with RJD. He further accused the Congress party of suppressing the demands of forming Jharkhand. He said that it was former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee who fulfilled the dreams and created Jharkhand state with peace and consensus.

“BJP is the party that, along with all of you, saw the dream of Jharkhand state and also fulfilled it. As soon as Atal Ji came to power, he created Jharkhand state with peace and consensus. We wanted the development of Jharkhand; we wanted to fulfill the dreams of the tribal society here, but in fulfilling these, we had to fight with parties like RJD. A party like RJD had made Jharkhand its place of loot. Water, forest, and land were openly looted. They had made this area a safe house for criminals and mafias, and who was supporting RJD from Delhi?—Congress Party. Congress was an equal shareholder with RJD. They used to say that Jharkhand wouldn’t be made, and the Congress party had assured to suppress the demands of Jharkhand,” the Prime Minister said.

Jharkhand is likely to go to polls for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government’s tenure is set to end in January 2025. The Election Commission is yet to announce the election schedule. In the 2020 assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the Bharatiya Janta Party bagged 25 and the Congress won 16.

Those with early access to Raveum’s platform have already started benefiting from U.S. real estate ownership. Investors have gained access to high-demand properties and enjoy multiple income streams—including monthly rental income, potential property appreciation over time, and the added advantage of dollar appreciation—which has resulted in significant returns when earnings are converted back to Indian rupees.

With fractional ownership starting at ₹10,000, Raveum has enabled investors to own a share of premium U.S. real estate, giving them access to a market that was once out of reach. Though the platform is not yet available to everyone, those who were accepted into early access have been able to secure exclusive investment opportunities in properties leased by Class A tenants like Starbucks and CVS.

Rental yields in the U.S. are nearly three times higher than in India, and when combined with these appreciation factors, investors are seeing far stronger returns than from domestic real estate. Raveum has been able to not only offer higher returns but also deliver consistent and stable growth, providing the security and long-term reliability that are crucial in today’s uncertain economic climate.

Early access investors were able to complete the entire process through Raveum seamlessly online, without facing the traditional challenges of international real estate investing. From signing up to purchasing shares, everything was handled digitally, eliminating the need for paperwork, long wait times, or complicated procedures.

Raveum’s platform is built on cutting-edge technology designed to ensure full security and transparency in every transaction. This advanced infrastructure inherently prevents any tampering or alteration of shares, which has allowed the platform to seamlessly operate within the strict regulatory frameworks of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Indian government. By integrating such robust technological safeguards, Raveum ensures that it meets all regulatory requirements, giving Indian investors the confidence and peace of mind needed for secure, long-term investments in U.S. real estate.
