  • Maharashtra Polls: Why BJP Is Opposing NCP, Shiv Sena’s Candidates – Pradeep Sharma’s Wife, Nawab Malik’s Daughter |

Maharashtra Election 2024: Weeks ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, both the Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti have claimed a seat-sharing deal. However, there are still some seats on which Mahayuti is yet to reach a consensus, mostly due to the candidate’s profile. According to reports, the BJP has raised objections the NCP and Shiv Sena-Shinde’s choice of candidates on two seats who are related to Nawab Malik and Maharashtra police official Pradeep Sharma.

Nawab Malik is out on bail in a PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) case, while Pradeep Sharma, a former encounter specialist, was allegedly involved in the Antilia bomb scare case. Nawab Malik’s daughter is set to get a ticket by the NCP, and Pradeep Sharma’s wife, Swikriti Sharma, has joined the Shiv Sena-Shinde faction, where she is expected to contest from Andheri East.

According to Aaj Tak, the BJP has expressed opposition to both the NCP’s decision to field Nawab Malik’s daughter, Sana Malik, and the nomination of Pradeep Sharma’s wife, Swikriti Sharma.

Nawab Malik’s Daughter From Anushakti Nagar

Nawab Malik, who is currently out on medical bail, previously represented the Anushakti Nagar seat. His daughter Sana Malik is set to get a ticket from the same constituency. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Nawab Malik may contest the upcoming elections from the Shivaji Nagar-Mankhurd seat on an NCP ticket, where he could face Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi.

Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar has openly opposed Nawab Malik’s candidacy, stating that the party won’t accept the nomination of anyone ‘associated with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’.

Pradeep Sharma’s Wife From Andheri East

Another contentious issue is the Andheri East seat, where a dispute has emerged between the Shinde faction and the BJP. Currently, this seat is held by Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Rutuja Latke. While Swikriti Sharma, wife of Pradeep Sharma, has joined the Shinde faction and is a potential candidate, the BJP is pushing for Murji Patel, who had previously contested the by-election against Latke but was asked by the BJP to withdraw his nomination. Recently, Patel held a show of strength in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP’s resistance to Swikriti Sharma’s candidacy stems from her association with Pradeep Sharma, who was arrested by the NIA for his alleged involvement in the Antilia bomb scare case.

  • How To Increase Engagement On YouTube – 11 Stellar Ways |

One of the largest platforms for connecting content creators with viewers across the globe is YouTube. Whether you’re using your channel for leisure, company promotion, or to make a living, growing engagement is essential. This includes getting more likes, comments, views, and shares. However, raising your channel’s engagement rate and developing a devoted following is not easy.

The most common idea is to buy YouTube views from a reliable source that offers 100% authentic views from real people. This signals the YouTube algorithm of organic growth, enhancing your content visibility. It also makes your content more attractive and pulls potential viewers to click on your content.

Besides this, here are some more effective ways to boost engagement!

    1. Create High-Quality Content

Content that is amusing, educational, or useful attracts viewers. Make sure your videos add value for your intended audience. This might include how-to manuals, vlogs, reviews, or tutorials.

    To maintain quality:

Use a good camera and microphone.
Edit your videos to ensure they’re smooth and engaging.
Create interesting thumbnails that grab attention.
Include strong titles and descriptions that tell viewers what to expect.

High-quality content will make people more likely to watch until the end, comment, like, and share.

    2. Post Consistently

The secret to increasing engagement is consistency. People can become disinterested or forget about your channel if you only update once every several months.

Whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, create a posting schedule that works for you. Inform your viewers when new videos will be released.

    Why consistency matters:

It keeps your audience engaged and coming back.
    It helps you build momentum.
You’ll be more likely to get recommended by YouTube’s algorithm.

A regular posting schedule signals to YouTube that your channel is active, which can boost your chances of getting more organic views.

    3. Encourage Audience Interaction

Views are only one aspect of engagement. You want your videos to be liked, commented on, and shared. However, people frequently require encouragement to act.

    Ask your viewers to:

Like the video if they enjoyed it.
Comment on their thoughts or answer a question related to the video.
Subscribe to your channel if they want more content like this.
Share the video with their friends.

Use verbal and visual calls-to-action (CTAs) in your videos. A simple, ‘If you found this helpful, give it a thumbs up,’ can significantly increase the number of likes.

    4. Consider Boosting Engagement by Buying YouTube Likes

Although your primary objective should be organic development, organic engagement is pretty slow initially. It can take a toll on your confidence and patience.

So, you can choose to buy YouTube likes to boost content visibility and engagement. A video with a large number of likes seems more popular. This entices new viewers to watch and interact.

However, make sure you buy likes only from a reliable business that offers 100% genuine engagement from real accounts with actual human beings behind them. This way, the engagement won’t appear suspicious. YouTube will consider your account growth as organic and even push your content to more viewers’ feeds.

    5. Respond to Comments

When viewers comment, respond to them. This shows your appreciation and interest in the audience’s opinions. This may develop a feeling of community around your channel.

    Benefits of responding:

It builds a personal connection with viewers.
It encourages more people to comment in the future.
It shows new viewers that your channel is active and engaged.

Even a simple ‘Thanks for watching!’ can go a long way in encouraging future interaction.

    6. Use Engaging Titles and Thumbnails

Your video’s title and thumbnail are the first things people see. These two elements determine whether or not someone will click on your video.

    To create an engaging title:

    Make it clear and concise.
Use keywords that people are searching for.
Add some curiosity or a call-to-action (e.g., “You Won’t Believe What Happened!”).

    For your thumbnail:

    Use bright, contrasting colours.
    Include expressive faces or reactions.
Add text that highlights key points in the video.

An attractive thumbnail paired with a strong title can drastically increase your video’s click-through rate (CTR), leading to more views and engagement.

    7. Leverage Playlists

Playlists are a great way for people to watch more of your content. When a viewer finishes a video in a playlist, the next one begins automatically, keeping people on your channel longer.

    How to use playlists effectively:

    Group related videos together.
Create themed playlists around your channel’s main topics.
Include your best-performing videos at the top of the playlist.

When people spend more time on your channel, there’s a higher chance they will like, comment, and subscribe.

    8. Collaborate With Other YouTubers

One of the best ways to expand your audience is to work with other creators in your area. By collaborating, you share fresh material with each other’s subscribers and increase likes, comments, shares, and views.

    When collaborating:

Choose YouTubers with a similar audience size and content type.
Create a win-win collaboration where both creators benefit.
Promote each other’s channels in your videos and descriptions.

    9. Use YouTube Analytics

YouTube’s analytics tool is invaluable for understanding what’s working and what’s not.

It provides insights into audience behaviour, such as the content type with the most engagement and how long people watch.

    Key metrics to watch:

Watch time: Are people watching your videos all the way through?
Engagement: How many likes, comments, and shares are your videos getting?
Audience retention: Are viewers leaving midway through your video?

With this data, adjust your content strategy to increase engagement. For example, if viewers drop off halfway through, make your intros shorter or add more engaging elements earlier in the video.

    10. Host Giveaways Or Contests

Hosting a giveaway or contest is an easy way to encourage engagement. People love free stuff, and you can motivate them to like, comment, and share your video to win a prize.

How to run a successful giveaway:

Choose an exciting and relevant prize for your audience.
Ask viewers to like the video, subscribe, and leave a comment to enter.
Promote the giveaway on all other social media platforms to attract more participants.

This strategy can lead to a temporary spike in engagement, but it can also help you gain long-term subscribers if they enjoy your content.

    11. Optimise For Search (SEO)

Just like Google, YouTube has its search algorithm. Optimising your videos for search can help new viewers discover your content, leading to more engagement.

    To optimise for search:

Use relevant keywords in your video title, description, and tags.
Include closed captions and transcripts to make your videos more searchable.
Add relevant hashtags in your description.

The more your videos appear in search results, the more views and engagement you’ll get.

    Conclusion

Although increasing YouTube interaction takes time, you can gradually expand your channel by putting in constant work and focusing on providing value to your viewers. The most important thing is to remain patient and keep improving your material, regardless of whether you decide to purchase YouTube views or use other tactics.

  • Massive Turnout In Kalpetta As Priyanka Gandhi Kicks Off Campaign For Wayanad Bypoll |

WAYANAD: Thousands of people, including UDF leaders and workers, gathered in Kalpetta on Wednesday to participate in a massive roadshow welcoming Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as she prepares to make her electoral debut by filing nomination papers for the upcoming Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll. Priyanka, who arrived in the hill district on Tuesday night along with her mother — Congress Parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi — led the roadshow along with her brother — Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi — from the new bus stand at Kalpetta.

Priyanka’s husband, Robert Vadra, and one of their children were also seen along with her in the open-roof vehicle along with other senior party and IUML leaders during the roadshow.

UDF workers and supporters as well as members of the general public of all age groups, who were waiting since early morning, welcomed her carrying placards with Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi’s photographs, balloons in the party colours and drum beats.

Balloons in the party colours of the Congress and its ally Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) also lined both sides of the nearly two kilometer long roadshow route. Green flags of IUML and the tricolour of the Congress, which were absent during Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow in April this year, were also seen, but in very few numbers.

Priyanka would be contesting against LDF’s Sathyan Mokeri and BJP’s Navya Haridas. The by-election for Wayanad LS seat became necessary after Rahul Gandhi, who won the Lok Sabha polls from there and Rae Bareli constituency, decided to vacate Wayanad.

  • Jharkhand Election 2024: JMM Releases 1st List Of 35 Candidates, Hemant Soren To Contest From Barhait |

RANCHI: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha released its first list of 35 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls on Wednesday, fielding Chief Minister Hemant Soren from Barhait and Kalpana Soren from Gandey segments. The assembly polls will be held in two phases — on November 13 and 20 — while the results will be declared on November 23.

Hemant Soren is the sitting MLA from Barhait (ST) constituency in Sahibganj district. He won the seat by 25,740 votes over his nearest BJP rival Simon Malto in the 2019 assembly elections. His wife Kalpana Soren had won the Gandey bypoll by 27,149 votes over her nearest BJP rival Dilip Kumar Verma. The seat had fallen vacant following the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmad.

Of the 35 JMM nominees, Basant Soren, the incumbent chief minister’s brother, will contest from Dumka, Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahto from Nala, Minister Mithilesh Thakur from Garhwa, Sonu Sudivya from Giridih and Bebi Devi from Dumri.

Basant defeated former BJP minister Lois Marandi by over 6,842 votes in party stronghold Dumka, the constituency vacated by his elder brother Hemant Soren after he won Dumka and Barahit in the December 2019 assembly elections and decided to retain the latter.

Assembly Speaker Mahto won Nala in Jamtara by a margin of 3,520 votes, defeating Satyanand Jha of the BJP in the last elections. Mahto had won the seat in 2005 and 2014 also.

The other candidates announced by the JMM include Dipak Birua from Chaibasa and Kedar Hazara, a three-term sitting MLA of BJP who joined the party recently, from Jamua.

  • 1 Dead, Five Missing As Under-Construction Building Collapses In Bengaluru |

One person was killed, and five others are missing after an under-construction building collapsed in Bengaluru’s Horamavu Agara area on Tuesday, according to police. The incident occurred in the afternoon while 20 people were inside the seven-story building.

“Twenty people were trapped. One has died, 14 have been rescued, and five are still unaccounted for,” said D Devaraja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Bengaluru, in a statement to ANI. Rescue operations are ongoing to locate the missing individuals.

Locals reported that the collapse happened around 1:00 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the building, which was under construction, collapsed after heavy rainfall. “Seven of our workers were on site. Unfortunately, one has died, and three others were injured and taken to the hospital,” an eyewitness said.

Another witness, Mehfoos, described the scene: “We were on a lunch break around 1:00 pm when we heard a loud noise, and the building began shaking. A worker inside the building died instantly.”

Further updates are awaited as the rescue mission continues.

At least 17 workers are believed to be trapped following the collapse of a building under construction in Babusapalya, Bengaluru, on Tuesday, officials have confirmed.

The incident occurred during heavy rainfall in the city, complicating the situation. Rescue efforts are currently underway, with two emergency vans from the fire department on-site. According to a senior police officer, “17 individuals are feared trapped, and a coordinated rescue operation is in progress with support from various agencies.” Initial investigations suggest the building’s complete collapse, with people trapped under the rubble, according to fire department officials.

Bengaluru has recently experienced record-breaking rainfall, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reporting a remarkable 186.2 mm of rain at the GKVK observatory by 8:30 am on Sunday. This figure surpasses the previous highest 24-hour rainfall record of 178.9 mm, which was set on October 1, 1997. The relentless rain has disrupted daily life, especially in the northern parts of the city.

Areas like Yelahanka and Doddabommasandra Lake have been heavily flooded, leading to severe waterlogging. In response, authorities have deployed five teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to assist with rescue and evacuation operations.

  • Mehbooba Mufti Warns Govt Against Pressuring Non-Local Laborers To Leave Kashmir |

PDP president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that the J-K administration is pressuring non-local labourers to leave the region following the recent terrorist attack in Sonamarg, which claimed seven lives. Mufti also called for a more measured response, warning that hasty decisions could damage Kashmir’s social and economic stability and tarnish the region’s image on a national level.

In her social media post, Mufti stressed that expelling non-locals could send a dangerous signal to the rest of the country, undermining the recent peaceful elections held in the Union Territory. She pointed out the risk of this move provoking retaliatory sentiments in other states where Kashmiri workers and students reside, potentially putting their safety at risk.

“Kashmiris living outside the valley could face similar hostility if we force these workers to leave in such a manner. The situation needs to be handled with care,” Mufti said.

She also emphasised the contributions of non-local labourers to the region’s economy, especially in sectors like construction, agriculture, and service industries, warning that their sudden departure could lead to severe labour shortages and halt critical projects.

The former chief minister called on current political leaders, including Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure that labourers are given enough time to return home safely rather than being abruptly forced out.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police quickly responded to Mehbooba Mufti, quoting IGP Kashmir and said, “Social media reports claiming that the local administration has asked non-local workers to leave the valley are false. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to ensuring security and fostering a safe environment for all individuals to pursue their livelihoods without fear or intimidation. The general public is advised not to pay heed to such false information on social media platforms.”

Although security has been beefed up across the Kashmir Valley after the Gagangeer attack, extra deployments can be seen on the roads in Kashmir.

  • Bahraich Violence: SC To Hear Plea By Accused Against Demolition Notices Issued By UP Govt |

New Delhi: The Supreme Court agreed to hear on Wednesday a plea filed by three accused in the Bahraich communal violence incident against demolition notices issued by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Senior advocate C U Singh, appearing for the petitioners, mentioned the matter before a bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan seeking urgent hearing.

“This is an application by three persons who are recipients of demolition notices. The state government has given only three days to respond to the notices,” Singh told the bench.

Singh submitted that petitioner No.1’s father and brothers have surrendered and notices were purportedly issued on October 17 and pasted on 18th evening.

“We sought hearing on Sunday, but that did not happen,” he added.

Additional Solicitor General K M Nataraj, appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government, told the court that the Allahabad High Court is seized of the matter and has given 15 days’ time to respond to the notice.

The bench then said, “If they (UP govt) want to take risk of flouting our order, it’s their choice.”

The counsel for the petitioners said no protection has been granted by the high court.

The apex court then orally asked the ASG not to take any action till Wednesday and posted the matter for hearing.

Ram Gopal Mishra (22) died of gunshot injuries after an inter-faith dispute over loud music being played outside a place of worship in Maharajganj on Sunday. The incident triggered communal violence, leading to arson and vandalism in the area and internet suspension for four days.

BRICS Summit 2024: The 16th BRICS Summit is set to take place in Kazan, Russia, on October 22-23, under Russia’s chairmanship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend and is expected to hold bilateral talks with leaders of the BRICS member nations.

One of the most anticipated meetings could be between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders last met during the BRICS Summit in South Africa last year. As India and China relations remain strained, the potential face-to-face in Kazan is drawing significant global attention.

    PM Modi-Xi Jinping Meeting

In an interview with ANI, Indian Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s primary focus will be his participation in the BRICS summit. Alongside this, he is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings. Kumar confirmed a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is finalized. “Some other meetings may take place once scheduling issues are resolved,” he added.

Meanwhile, China’s Foreign Ministry on Monday sidestepped questions about a potential meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.

“We will keep you posted if anything comes up,” PTI quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian as saying during a media briefing.

Earlier, Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Chinese President Xi will participate in both small-group and large-group meetings, attend the BRICS Plus Dialogue, and deliver key addresses.

    India-China Border Negotiations

Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kazan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on Monday in New Delhi that Indian and Chinese negotiators have reached an agreement on patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

Beijing has not yet responded to the agreement announced by Misri.

Relations between India and China have been strained since the deadly clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, the most serious military conflict between the two nations in decades.

    BRICS Summit 2024 In Kazan

BRICS, initially formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has expanded with new members, including Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. This year’s summit theme is “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.”
