  • NC-Congress Alliance Stakes Claim To Form Government In J&K, Omar Meets Lt. Guv |

The National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance took a significant step on Friday by formally staking their claim to govern Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister-designate Omar Abdullah met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to present the coalition’s letters of support, just hours after Congress publicly backed Abdullah.

Abdullah’s election as the leader of the NC legislature party on Thursday cleared the path for his return as chief minister. He previously held the position from 2009 to 2014, leading a similar NC-Congress coalition.

In the recent elections, the NC won 42 out of the 90 seats contested in three phases, while Congress secured six seats. With the support of four Independent legislators and the only Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, the coalition boasts a solid majority in the 95-member House.

After his meeting at the Raj Bhawan, Abdullah spoke to reporters, expressing urgency for the swearing-in ceremony. “I met the LG and presented the letters of support from the NC, Congress, CPI(M), AAP, and Independents who have backed us. I requested him to fix a date as soon as possible so that the government elected by the people can start functioning,” he stated.

Abdullah indicated that the oath ceremony is tentatively set for Wednesday, although he acknowledged some delays. “This process will take some time. It’s not an elected government replacing another elected government; we are under central rule, and the LG has to prepare documents to send to Rashtrapati Bhavan,” he explained.

He further clarified the steps involved: “From Rashtrapati Bhavan, the documents will go to the Home Ministry for processing, and then they will be sent back. We’ve been informed it will take at least two to three days. I hope this process can be completed quickly, allowing us to hold the oath ceremony on Wednesday.”

Earlier on Friday, the six Congress MLAs convened to authorize the party’s high command in New Delhi to select the leader of their legislature party. JKPCC President Tariq Karra announced that the meeting unanimously decided to delegate this important decision to the central leadership.

According to officials, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities officially informed their counterparts in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) yesterday about Chandrakar’s arrest.

ED officials announced that the documentation process for Chandrakar’s extradition will be completed in the coming days and submitted to the UAE authorities to facilitate his return to India.

According to PTI reports citing federal agency, the MOB app operates as an umbrella syndicate, facilitating illegal betting by providing online platforms that allow for user enrollment, creation of user IDs, and laundering money through a complex network of proxy bank accounts.

  • Delhi CM Atishi’s Residence Vacated, Belongings Removed; AAP Slams BJP |

The PWD has sealed the Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s residence located at 6 Flagstaff Road. The department has put a double lock on its gate. This government residence was vacated after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that despite protocol, the bungalow has not been allocated to the current Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi.

The party claimed that undue pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was causing the delay in handing over the property, despite Kejriwal having vacated the premises. Atishi, who assumed the role of Chief Minister after Kejriwal’s resignation, moved her belongings into a Civil Lines bungalow in North Delhi earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, accused Chief Minister Atishi of occupying the Sheeshmahal. He said, “When Chief Minister Atishi has already been allotted a government residence AB-17 Mathura Road, she is still illegally occupying the Sheeshmahal. Why did Arvind Kejriwal give the keys of Sheeshmahal to Atishi instead of handing them over to Delhi PWD officials?”

“The officials of Kejriwal’s government are deliberately protecting this illegal occupation. I demand from the PWD department that Sheeshmahal should be sealed immediately and legal action should be taken,” he added.

On Wednesday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh held a press conference where he accused the BJP of obstructing the bungalow’s allocation to Atishi. Singh claimed that the Chief Minister’s camp office on the premises had already been vacated and provided documents to support the claim that Kejriwal had vacated the house in accordance with proper procedures.

He further alleged that the BJP had ulterior motives to “usurp” the bungalow, preventing its allocation to the current Delhi Chief Minister.

  • ‘Muslims Have So Many Castes But…’: PM Modi Slams Congress Over ‘Divide And Rule’ Day After Haryana Victory |

A day after a historic win in the Haryana Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing them of neglecting the diverse castes within the Muslim community and using divisive tactics among Hindus for political gain. “Congress has always used a divide-and-rule formula,” Modi stated during a virtual rally, where he laid the foundation for various development projects in Maharashtra worth over ₹7,600 crore.

He criticized the party for creating narratives that foster division, claiming, “They keep Muslims under fear to convert them into a vote bank, while ignoring the different castes within the Muslim community.” Modi further asserted that Congress’s strategy is to pit one caste of Hindus against another, saying, “The more Hindus get divided, the more it benefits Congress.” He alleged that the party’s efforts to mislead the public, including Dalits and farmers, have been thwarted.

Highlighting the support the BJP received from the Dalit and OBC communities in Haryana, Modi emphasized the welfare schemes that have benefited farmers. “Farmers know who provided them with MSP on crops,” he added.

    BJP’s Development Work

Highlighting the BJP’s development work, Modi said farmers in Haryana are happy with the welfare schemes introduced by the party. He also congratulated the people of Maharashtra for various development projects, including 10 new medical colleges, the modernization of Nagpur Airport, and the construction of a terminal building for Shirdi Airport.

    Corruption Allegations

PM Modi also accused Congress of rampant corruption during their rule, matching the current pace and scale of development. He emphasized that the recognition of Marathi as a Classical Language is a significant achievement, fulfilling the decades-old dream of the Marathi people.
