Praveen Sahu, Abhanpur. The Revenue Department conducted a raid under the leadership of SDM Ravi Singh in village Ghorbhatti under Gobra Navapara tehsil area. During this period, 2 chain mountain machines and 3 highways involved in illegal mud excavation have been seized. After the action, there has been a stir among those doing illegal excavation of mud.
SDM Singh told that he had received a complaint about illegal mud excavation in the village, after which when he reached the spot, illegal mud excavation was found in Khasra No. 128. During interrogation, at present no valid documents were found with the people doing the excavation. After this, 2 chain mountains and 3 highways engaged in illegal mud excavation have been seized. During the action, Gobra Navapara Tehsildar Suraj Banchhor, Naib Tehsildar Alok Verma, Revenue Inspector, Patwari etc. were present. The action of the Revenue Department also exposed the alleged activism of the District Mineral Department.
According to the information, for the last 15 days, illegal excavation and transportation of mud was being done 24 hours a day. Despite this, the Mineral Department did not even get a clue about it, or rather, the Mineral Department deliberately did not consider it appropriate to pay attention to it.
The villagers are having various discussions regarding this. Villagers say that it is only when some pressure comes from above that the Mineral Department wakes up from its Kumbhakarni sleep. Some people of the village told that Murum was being used in the Bharatmala Project, which is a very big project of the Central Government.
