A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar.

Raipur / An 11-member SIT has been constituted under the leadership of IPS Shri Mayank Gurjar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, by Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Shri Sundarraj P, to investigate the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar. It is noteworthy that a crime has been registered in Bijapur police station in connection with the murder of journalist Shri Mukesh Chandrakar.

The SIT (Special Investigation Team) includes IPS Shri Mayank Gurjar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bijapur; Smt. Ruchi Verma, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dantewada; Shri Sharad Jaiswal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bijapur; Smt. Geetika Sahu, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bastar; Shri Durgash Sharma, Inspector, Police Station In-charge, Bijapur; Shri Virendra Srivastava, Inspector, In-charge, District Special Branch, Bijapur; Shri Chandrashekhar Shriwas, Inspector, In-charge, Farsapal, District Dantewada; Shri Rizwan Ahmed, Inspector, Protected Center, Bijapur; Shri Gaurav Tiwari, Inspector, Range Cyber Police Station, Jagdalpur; Shri Mukesh Patel, Sub-Inspector, Bijapur Police Station; and Shri Vivekananda Patel, In-charge, Cyber Cell, Bijapur. The SIT has been instructed to thoroughly investigate the case and submit a daily progress report to the Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, which must also be forwarded to the office of the Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range.
