State bar election is pending for four years
The Chhattisgarh State Bar Council elections have been pending for the last four years, on which the High Court expressed displeasure. Earlier, the BCI had proposed to start the election process in June 2025 and vote on August 10, but the court asked for clear guidelines to file an affidavit.
The High Court, in its order in February 2025, asked the BCI to clarify the election status, but expressed dissatisfaction over not filing the affidavit on time. Now after the revised program is released, this election will be held after about 6 months.
