In the assembly, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel asked how many DPRs for housing in urban areas have been prepared and sent to the Centre. On this, Minister Arun Sao said that in the previous government, DPRs for building 19,906 houses were sent to the Centre. On this, Bhupesh Baghel asked how many of the houses sent to the Centre have been approved. Sao said that approval for new houses has not been received from the Centre yet.
Bhupesh Baghel said that in the last eight months, not a single proposal has been sent to build a house. The minister said that the criteria for building houses is how many houses are approved. After the approval of the proposal sent, new proposals will be sent. On this, Bhupesh Baghel said that giving lease of kutcha houses is in the hands of the state government. The DPR for converting kutcha houses into pucca houses is prepared and sent to the Center for approval. Sao said that the government is considering the leased houses.
The former Chief Minister said that it has been nine years since the housing scheme was launched. Building a house has become expensive. Will the government take the initiative to increase the approved amount of 2015? On this, Minister Arun Sao said that the government will consider it and take a decision.
